Germany's Inflation Falls to 2.4% in June as Oil Prices Decline

According to German Federal Statistical Office data released Tuesday on June 30, Germany's inflation rate fell to 2.4% in June from 2.7% in May, beating economist expectations of 2.5%. France's inflation unexpectedly declined to 2%, returning to the European Central Bank's 2% target, while Italy's eased to 3.1%. The decline was driven by falling global oil prices following de-escalation in the Middle East.
