Guinea President Announces Ban on Raw Gold Ore Exports

Guinea President Mamadi Doumbouya announced a ban on raw gold ore exports, requiring all gold to be refined domestically before shipment. Under the new policy, gold can only be exported as refined ingots after processing at a newly constructed facility in the capital, Conakry. The measure aims to boost local gold processing capacity and support domestic economic development. Operators continuing to export raw ore will face license suspension and mining agreement termination.
