Hong Kong Stock Market Opens 210 Points Higher Today Amid Easing U.S. Inflation

The Hang Seng Index opened 210 points or 0.9% higher at 24,551 points today, with the National Index up 49 points or 0.6% to 8,152 points and the Tech Index advancing 36 points or 0.8% to 4,716 points.

Tech stocks broadly gained, with Tencent up 2.5% to HK$467.6 and Alibaba rising 0.7% to HK$111.6. Semiconductor plays surged, including SMIC up 2.5% to HK$80.3 and Hua Hong Semiconductor up 2.6% to HK$175.9. AI stocks rallied, with Zhipu at 6.3% higher to HK$1,700 and MiniMax rising 2.6% to HK$236. Notably, China Life Insurance opened 4.3% higher at HK$29.86 on expectations its first-half profit will more than double.
