Hong Kong stocks opened higher today (July 10), with the Hang Seng Index rising 183 points (0.8%) to 24,213, following overnight strength in U.S. chip stocks. The Hang Seng Tech Index climbed 58 points (1.2%) to 4,790, with internet and tech names broadly advancing; Alibaba (09988) gained 1.9%, Baidu (09888) rose 3.1%, and JD.com (09618) up 1.8%.
Lenovo Group (00992) was the best-performing blue-chip on the open, surging 8.8% to HK$26.16. Chip stocks also extended gains, with SMIC (00981) up 1.7% to HK$84.95 following yesterday's 10%+ rally. Two new listings debuted with mixed results: wafer foundry Jianghai Integrated (02249) jumped 11.5% to HK$36, while Binhua Chemical Products (06745) fell 21.3% to HK$2.74.
