India and Indonesia Sign Defense Cooperation Pact Today, Approve Brahmos Missile System Deal

According to an official statement from Indonesia's government communication bureau released today (July 7), Indonesian President Prabowo and visiting Indian Prime Minister Modi signed more than a dozen agreements in Jakarta, including defense cooperation. The Brahmos Aerospace Company of India and Indonesia's Defense Ministry inked a procurement contract for the Brahmos air defense system, while India's defense contractor also executed an air-to-air missile cooperation agreement with Indonesia's state enterprise. The two nations also formalized partnerships across critical minerals, technology, food security, pharmaceuticals, and maritime security.
