According to AFP, on May 29, Iranian authorities announced they were preparing a grand funeral for former supreme leader Ali Khamenei, who was killed in the first wave of U.S.-Israeli strikes beginning February 28. State media cited Islamic Propaganda Coordination Council head Mohsen Mahmadi as saying a dedicated headquarters has been established to organize the ceremony, with various departments currently handling arrangements. The funeral had been postponed due to the ongoing conflict between Iran, the United States, and Israel, with no specific date confirmed.
