Iran-Linked Hacking Group Handala Claims Breach of FBI Drones, Threatens 2026 World Cup

According to CBS News reporting on Friday (June 11), the Iran-linked hacking group Handala claimed it breached surveillance drones allegedly operated by the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation. The group stated it obtained access to facial recognition and license plate scanning data collected by the drones over several months.

Handala also issued threats directed at teams participating in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, warning "we don't like some of those teams" and suggesting first-person view drones could be deployed against team vehicles. The claims have not been independently verified; SITE Intelligence Group reported some material released by Handala as evidence contained inaccuracies.
