Iran Warns Against Foreign Military Operations in Strait of Hormuz on July 4

According to state media Xinhua, Iran's deputy foreign minister Gholamali Khaji warned on July 4 against foreign military operations in the Strait of Hormuz. The warning followed a joint statement issued by UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron on July 3, in which the two countries pledged to work with Oman to ensure maritime security in the waterway. Khaji emphasized that the Strait of Hormuz should not be used for military displays by external powers and that Iran, as the primary guardian of the strait, would closely monitor all military movements in the region.
