According to a U.S. State Department statement on July 20, Israel launched a withdrawal operation in its first designated "pilot area" in southern Lebanon, implementing a trilateral framework agreement among Israel, Lebanon, and the United States.

The operation involves three villages: Furun, Srifa, and Zawtar al-Gharbia. The withdrawal action follows direct talks between Israel and Lebanon on July 14 in Rome, coordinated under a trilateral military coordination mechanism.
