Japanese Logistics Firm AZ-COM Maruwa to Adopt JPYC Stablecoin, Plans 1B Yen Investment

According to Nikkei Asia, AZ-COM Maruwa Holdings, a major Japanese logistics services company, plans to adopt JPYC stablecoin to pay fees and salaries to approximately 2,300 business partners and individual contractors, including truck drivers. The company is considering a partnership with JPYC Inc. accompanied by a 1 billion yen ($6.16 million) investment.

This marks the first large-scale corporate use of JPYC, Japan's first officially registered yen-pegged stablecoin. By offering faster payments through JPYC, AZ-COM Maruwa aims to attract more business partners and address labor shortages stemming from an aging workforce and stricter overtime regulations.
