JMIC Escalates Strait of Hormuz Threat Level to Severe After 3 Ships Hit in 24 Hours on July 7

According to JMIC, on July 7 the Joint Maritime Information Center operated by 47 countries escalated the maritime threat level for the Strait of Hormuz to Severe following attacks on three commercial vessels within 24 hours. JMIC, which coordinates information between Western navies and commercial shipping operators under U.S. Central Command leadership, noted that Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) continued assault activities, hailings, unmanned aircraft operations, and target surveillance throughout the period, indicating sustained monitoring of merchant shipping and persistent presence across key transit lanes.
