KOSPI Expected to Trade Range-Bound Through Year-End, iM Securities Analyst Says

According to iM Securities analyst Kim Jun-young on July 20, South Korea's KOSPI index is unlikely to recover its earlier highs by the end of Q3 and is expected to trade range-bound and search for direction through year-end. The analyst noted that elevated margin financing balances could amplify market volatility. "If the index declines further, there is a risk that margin liquidation could trigger forced selling," Kim said.
