According to CoinDesk, on July 8, Kraken is pursuing a full banking license in Lithuania to offer services across the European Economic Area, including current accounts, consumer loans, and stock trading. If approved, the exchange would become the only crypto trading platform holding such a comprehensive banking license, following the same regulatory pathway as fintech firm Revolut, which obtained a professional banking license from Lithuania's central bank in 2018.
