Lebanon's Parliamentary Speaker Rejects U.S.-Brokered Israel Ceasefire Agreement on June 5

According to the Palestinian state news agency, Lebanon's parliamentary speaker Nabih Berri rejected the U.S.-brokered Israel-Lebanon ceasefire agreement on June 5. Berri said the agreement contained requirements for Hezbollah's full withdrawal south of the Litani River, which he opposed. He proposed alternative conditions: an unconditional ceasefire across land, sea, and air without demolishing existing facilities, combined with Hezbollah's withdrawal from south of the Litani River and Israeli withdrawal from occupied areas.
