On July 15, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang visited an izakaya in Tokyo's Kanda district to meet with executives from major Japanese semiconductor suppliers, including Kioxia, Shin-Etsu Chemical, Tokyo Electron, Ajinomoto, Sumitomo Electric, Taiyo Yuden, Panasonic, and Nitto Boseki.

Huang emphasized Japan's critical role in semiconductor manufacturing, stating that while fabrication takes place globally, foundational materials, chemical, and materials technology are sourced from Japan. The gathering highlighted Nvidia's broad dependence on Japan's industrial ecosystem for advanced memory, networking technology, substrates, and specialized manufacturing expertise.
