OpenAI Announces Full Rollout of GPT-5.6 Series Models and ChatGPT Work Agent on July 10

According to Jiemian News, OpenAI announced on July 10 the full rollout of its GPT-5.6 series models, including flagship model Sol, balanced model Terra, and cost-efficient model Luna. The Sol variant features a new Ultra mode that can coordinate four AI agents in parallel to handle complex tasks, enhancing efficiency in code development, scientific research, cybersecurity, and knowledge work. GPT-5.6 achieves industry-leading performance on multiple benchmarks while significantly reducing inference costs and response times, according to OpenAI.

OpenAI also launched ChatGPT Work, an enterprise-grade agent powered by GPT-5.6. Unlike instant conversations, ChatGPT Work is designed for multi-step complex projects, automatically decomposing tasks, creating plans, and generating documents, spreadsheets, or presentations based on user-defined goals. The feature is rolling out to Plus and Enterprise subscribers on macOS and Windows desktop, with users retaining full control and approval authority.
