Pi Network Completes Protocol 24 Upgrade, Sets V25 Deadline for June 18

According to Pi Core Team, Pi Network completed its Protocol 24 upgrade on June 5, marking one of the network's most challenging migrations to date. Node operators must now complete the Protocol 25.2 upgrade by June 18, 2026, following a mandatory sequential upgrade path from Protocol 19 through Protocol 26.

For Windows and macOS users running Pi Desktop, upgrades occur automatically when the node application starts. Linux node operators using Pi Linux Node CLI can upgrade via command line. The Core Team noted the migration should take only a few minutes, though simultaneous upgrades across multiple nodes are discouraged to prevent service disruptions.
