Pixxel and Sarvam Launch India's First Orbital Data Centre Satellite, 200kg Pathfinder Targeted for Q4 2026

GateNews

According to Pixxel, on May 4, the planetary intelligence company announced a strategic partnership with Sarvam to design and deploy India’s first orbital data centre satellite. The 200-kilogram Pathfinder satellite is targeted for launch in the fourth quarter of 2026. Pixxel will handle satellite design, construction, launch, and operations, while Sarvam provides AI infrastructure including onboard large-scale language models for training and inference. The satellite will carry Pixxel’s hyperspectral imaging payload and incorporate datacentre-grade GPUs, enabling real-time Earth data processing and analysis in orbit rather than transmitting raw data to ground stations.
