According to CryptoQuant researcher Darkfrost, retail Bitcoin inflows to Binance have fallen to a record low, with wallets transferring less than 1 BTC sending an average of approximately 329 BTC per day on July 2, 2026. This represents a significant decline from previous cycles: average daily retail inflows reached around 2,690 BTC in 2021 and roughly 3,700 BTC during 2018. The researcher noted that the absence of increased small-wallet activity despite Bitcoin reaching new highs reflects a shift toward institutional market participation, with spot Bitcoin ETFs providing retail investors an alternative to centralized exchanges.
