Russia Won't Initiate EU Dialogue, Peskov Says on May 8

According to Peskov, Russia’s presidential spokesperson, on May 8, Russia will not take the initiative to engage in dialogue with the European Union. Peskov stated during a press briefing that if Europe is prepared to initiate talks, Russia would respond with equivalent effort. However, citing the EU’s previous stance, Peskov emphasized that Russia will not be the first to pursue dialogue. He further stressed that the EU and certain European countries, not Russia, bear responsibility for the deterioration of bilateral relations.
