Samsung Securities Cuts Hyundai Rotem Target Price to 250,000 Won from 306,000 Won on July 27

According to Samsung Securities, on July 27, Hyundai Rotem's target price was lowered to 250,000 won from 306,000 won, citing declining valuations in the global defense sector. The brokerage maintained a buy rating, noting that new overseas orders could help the company command a premium relative to competitors. Analyst Han Young-soo stated that defense sector valuation headwinds are difficult to ignore in the absence of fresh order and earnings momentum. In the second quarter, Hyundai Rotem's operating profit fell 14% short of consensus, with margin pressure from higher domestic sales mix in its core defense business and weaker profit growth in the railway segment.
