According to CoinDesk on July 28, Senate Majority Leader John Thune has shelved the Clarity Act to prioritize government official nominations and Russian sanctions legislation. The earliest the bill may advance to a vote is during the final days before the August 8 recess. Both parties continue negotiating over an ethics provision limiting federal officials, including President Trump, from participating in crypto projects. The White House announced Trump's agreement to accept the clause last week, but Democrats say it lacks sufficient strength, with talks ongoing.
