Shenzhen Regulators Hold Talks with Meituan, Taobao Flash Purchase, JD.com Delivery on Food Safety

Following a June 15 enforcement action targeting unlicensed food delivery operations, the Shenzhen Market Supervision Administration held talks yesterday with representatives of Meituan, Taobao Flash Purchase, and JD.com Delivery, issuing a notice urging stricter compliance with food safety responsibilities.

The administration emphasized that platforms must conduct thorough verification of merchant credentials, prohibit unlicensed or fraudulent vendors, ban cross-store outsourcing of food preparation, and establish ongoing risk assessment mechanisms to prevent the resurgence of unauthorized delivery operations.
