SK Hynix 2028 Additional Memory Capacity May Reach Only One-Sixth of Plan, Bank of America Says

According to Bank of America report released on July 14, SK Hynix' additional memory capacity by 2028 may reach only one-sixth of originally planned levels. The bank noted that South Korea's annual wafer capacity growth will fall below 10%, far short of the government's 2030 target of doubling production. Meanwhile, construction and equipment installation cycles for new major foundries in Gwangju and Jeolla provinces by SK Hynix and Samsung may extend to a decade.
