Laut CNBC fiel die SoftBank Group am Freitag um über 12% und führte damit einen breiten Ausverkauf bei asiatischen Technologieaktien an, nachdem der Nasdaq Composite über Nacht zum vierten Mal in Folge nachgab und um 0,46% fiel. Apple gab an der Wall Street um 6% nach, während Arm Holdings, die Chipdesign-Tochter von SoftBank, über Nacht um 3,2% fiel. Die Schwäche setzte sich im gesamten asiatischen Halbleitersektor fort: Südkoreas SK Hynix verlor mehr als 3% und Samsung Electronics büßte fast 3% ein. Japans Advantest gab um über 6% nach, während Tokyo Electron um mehr als 2% fiel.
