South Korean Outbound Real Estate Investments Surge 61% in 2 Years, Reaching $595.5M

According to data from South Korea's central bank submitted by ruling party lawmaker Lee Yang-soo, outbound remittances by South Korean residents for overseas real estate purchases surged to $595.5 million in 2025, up 61% from $366.8 million in 2023, reaching the highest level since 2018. The United States received the largest share at $375.4 million across 798 transactions, followed by Japan at $77.7 million, UAE at $34.4 million, and Canada at $16 million. Crypto-wealthy investors are increasingly diversifying holdings into foreign markets, with Dubai gaining attention for its favorable tax treatment on personal income and property gains.
