According to on-chain analytics platform Lookonchain, hackers compromised the X accounts of SpaceX (2 million followers) and Starlink (1.6 million followers) to promote a memecoin scam called SCATMAN. The attackers minted 10 trillion SCATMAN tokens and executed a rug pull after promoting the token through the hijacked accounts. The primary wallet involved in the scheme netted approximately $108,000 worth of Ethereum, while a secondary wallet sold 59.28 million SCATMAN for $27,000 in ETH. Security researchers noted the swift execution of the account takeover, underlining vulnerabilities in high-profile social media accounts tied to major tech companies.
