State-Owned Enterprises Prioritize Core AI Algorithms and Chips at WAIC 2026, Deploy 5 Clusters With 10,000 GPUs Each

According to SASAC, Chinese state-owned enterprises will accelerate development of foundational large language models, core algorithms, physical AI, smart computing chips, and quantum communication technologies, Vice Director Pang Xiaogang said on July 18 at the China Telecom AI Ecosystem Forum during WAIC 2026. SASAC has deepened its "AI+" initiative across central enterprises, supporting over 1,200 industry-specific scenarios, achieving compatibility with domestically developed chips, and deploying 5 computing clusters of 10,000 GPUs each.
