Tesla Falls 1% After Investor Ross Gerber Says Stock Worthless Without SpaceX Merger

According to investor Ross Gerber, Tesla shares fell up to 1% on Monday (June 15) after markets closed following his comments that the electric vehicle maker would be "worthless" without merging with SpaceX. Speaking to media, Gerber argued that investors currently view a Tesla-SpaceX merger as inevitable and are holding Tesla stock primarily to secure future SpaceX investment opportunities. He noted Tesla's forward P/E ratio stands at approximately 190x, significantly higher than peers, despite the stock declining 9% year-to-date. Gerber criticized Tesla's lack of ownership over core AI intellectual property used in its Full Self-Driving technology, which relies on xAI infrastructure outside shareholder control.
