Tether Signs MoU With DMCC on USDT Payments and Asset Tokenization in Dubai

Tether signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding with Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) on June 16, 2026, to explore tokenization of real-world assets, digital payments using USDT, and blockchain education initiatives. The agreement covers potential pilot programs for peer-to-peer payments and asset tokenization through the DMCC Crypto Centre, which hosts over 650 blockchain companies. DMCC operates a network of 26,000 firms across 180 countries, accounting for roughly 15% of Dubai's foreign direct investment. Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino stated the collaboration aims to accelerate blockchain adoption in trade and asset tokenization, while DMCC Executive Chairman Ahmed Bin Sulayem noted stablecoins already process trillions in annual transaction value.
