Toss Bank Partners With Solana Foundation to Test Blockchain Remittance Infrastructure for 30 Countries

According to The Block, South Korea's Toss Bank has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Solana Foundation to develop blockchain-based financial infrastructure. In the first phase, the internet-only bank will launch a global remittance and settlement proof-of-concept using Solana, verifying the technical feasibility of stablecoin-powered remittances. The collaboration will expand Toss Bank's overseas remittance services, which currently support 30 countries and seven major currencies, serving 15 million customers. The bank also plans to explore blockchain-based payment and settlement models, digital assets, and anti-money laundering and know-your-customer processes with the foundation.
