Tropical Storm Messak Causes 1-3 Days of Waterlogging in Guangxi Sugarcane Areas, No Widespread Crop Loss Threat

According to Jin10, tropical storm Messak made landfall in Guangxi on July 5 at Fangchenggang's Dongxing district and lingered for about 26 hours before dissipating on July 6. Most affected sugarcane areas experienced 1-3 days of waterlogging, falling short of the critical threshold of 5-7 days continuous flooding that causes root rot. Overall, the storm poses no widespread production threat to Guangxi's sugarcane output. Damage varies significantly across regions, with Nanning experiencing the most severe impact, while Chongzuo, Liuzhou, and Laibin remain relatively unaffected.
