Trump Administration Requests OpenAI Phase Release of GPT-5.6

According to informed sources, on June 26, the Trump administration requested OpenAI to release its upcoming advanced AI model GPT-5.6 in phases. Sam Altman, OpenAI's chief executive, told employees on Wednesday that the government wants the company to first launch the model to a limited group of trusted partners before rolling out to a broader user base. The move comes less than two weeks after competitor Anthropic suspended access to its advanced models due to regulatory pressure.
