Trump Administration, Venezuela Discuss Unfreezing Billions in Frozen Assets Following Earthquakes

According to Jin10, on July 24, the Trump administration and Venezuelan officials are discussing ways to unfreeze billions of dollars in overseas frozen assets to help Venezuela recover from two recent earthquakes while avoiding additional U.S. taxpayer burden. The plan aims to support Venezuela's economic reconstruction without requiring Washington to commit funds beyond the previously pledged $386 million. Venezuela currently lacks access to billions of dollars through the International Monetary Fund and cannot retrieve gold and other resources held in British banks and overseas accounts.
