Trump Pardons Former Republican Congressman for $23B Merger Insider Trading on June 5

According to the White House, on June 5, President Trump pardoned former Republican Congressman Stephen Byer, who had been convicted of insider trading. Byer was sentenced to 22 months in prison for trading on non-public information related to a $23 billion merger between German telecom company Deutsche Telekom's U.S. division and Sprint Communications while serving as an adviser in 2018.
