Trump Says Both Russia and Ukraine Want Peace Deal, on July 7

According to Jin10, on July 7, U.S. President Trump expressed optimism about prospects for a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine during a meeting with Turkish President Erdogan in Ankara at the NATO summit. Trump said he had a "very good conversation" with Russian President Putin yesterday and also communicated with Ukrainian President Zelensky. "I think both of them want to make a deal. It's unfortunate it's taken so long, but I think ultimately there will be some kind of result," Trump stated. When asked if the situation had changed, Trump replied: "There has been no change." He added he does not want to see them "killing each other," referring to monthly casualties in the conflict.
