According to Sky News presenter Matt Barbet, Donald Trump threatened to strike Iran hard on the evening of July 14 and the following day, declaring the U.S. will reinstate its blockade of Iranian ports and serve as "the guardian" of the Strait of Hormuz. The announcement came during Trump's appearance on the Hugh Hewitt Show, as a third consecutive night of U.S. military action against Iran commenced.
In a Truth Social post on Monday, Trump vowed the strait "will remain OPEN, with or without Iran." He also dismissed the significance of a memorandum of understanding signed last month to conclude hostilities, claiming it was merely a "test" with little weight. "We're going to hit them very hard tonight and we're going to hit them hard tomorrow," Trump said in the interview.
