According to TIME magazine, Unitree co-founder Wang Xingxing and humanoid robot GD01 appeared on the cover of TIME's August 17 issue, marking Wang's first international media exclusive. TIME reported that Unitree shipped over 5,500 units in 2025, capturing more than one quarter of the global humanoid robot market and ranking first globally by shipment volume.

Wang predicted that humanoid robots are 2 to 10 years away from their 'ChatGPT moment.' He defined the milestone as robots successfully completing 80% of voice-commanded tasks in 80% of unfamiliar environments at scale.
