U.S. Approves $25.8 Billion in Emergency Military Sales to Five Middle East Nations on May 8

GateNews

According to Golden Finance, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio on May 8 approved $25.8 billion in emergency military sales to Bahrain, Israel, Kuwait, Qatar, and the UAE, including air defense interceptor missiles. The amount is three times the $8.6 billion in weapons sales announced by the U.S. government the previous week. The State Department classified the new approvals as modifications to previously authorized agreements rather than new sales, which exempted them from congressional review periods.
