Jinse Finance reported that on June 26, citing Russian Deputy Prime Minister Novak via TASS on Friday, the Russian authorities are considering imposing a multi-month diesel export ban on fuel producers. Ukraine said its long-range drone attacks on Russian energy facilities are intended to weaken Russia’s key sources of military funding and bring the conflict to Russian territory. Russian President Putin said such attacks on civilian infrastructure are meant to incite discord among the public. Although Russia’s diesel production fell by about 10% in May, exports saw little change, as traders rushed to profit from the surge in fuel prices amid heightened tensions in the region. In May, Turkey and Brazil continued to dominate purchases of Russian diesel, taking in most of the available spot supply.
