Jinse Finance reported that on June 27, U.S. Secretary of State Rubio issued a statement saying that on that day, the United States, Lebanon, and Israel signed a trilateral framework agreement. The statement said the agreement sets out a clear and orderly process aimed at restoring Lebanon’s sovereignty, disarming Hezbollah, and dismantling its infrastructure, while also ensuring that Israel can return to its borders after threats against civilians are eliminated. The agreement also establishes a U.S.-led “Lebanon Trilateral Military Coordination Group” to help both sides implement the framework agreement. The statement also said that the United States will continue to participate in the relevant process, including coordinating with the United Nations to immediately provide $100 million in humanitarian assistance. The U.S. Department of Defense is prepared to provide more than $30 million in funding to the Lebanese Armed Forces based on existing authorizations and appropriations to support Lebanon in achieving lasting peace. The United States plans to work closely with regional partners to implement this framework. (CCTV News)
