The CEO of Matter Labs criticized Solana for being less decentralized and inferior to Ethereum's Layer 2 in terms of performance.

Alex Gluchowski, the founder and CEO of Matter Labs, recently responded on the X platform to comments made by Toly – co-founder of Solana. Gluchowski argued that Solana cannot be compared to Ethereum in terms of decentralization and censorship resistance, and that it even falls short of Layer 2 solutions using a single sequencer in terms of latency and performance.

Previously, Toly affirmed that Solana does not intend to “declare war” on Ethereum but aims to compete with the Layer 2 solutions that are primarily built on Ethereum.
