Coinbase spends over $6 million a year to protect its CEO, mistakenly mistaking tequila for a bomb.

According to Mars Finance, Protos reported that Coinbase spends over $6 million a year to protect its CEO Brian Armstrong’s personal safety, including equipment such as X-ray scanners. However, recently the security team mistakenly identified a battery and wires in a bottle of tequila as a bomb while scanning a package, leading to a false alarm. The package was a gift from the All-In podcast.
