American Congresswoman Dina Titus calls on the CFTC to investigate Brian Quintenz — the agency’s chairman candidate — due to his relationship with Kalshi, a platform being overseen by the CFTC.

Titus is concerned that Mr. Quintenz violated ethical commitments and intervened in decisions before being approved by the Senate. She demands the full disclosure of all communications related to him and Kalshi, including the use of personal email. Quintenz is currently a board member and holds stock options in Kalshi. Although he committed to stepping down from the company if appointed, Titus doubts the feasibility since he could be the only commissioner overseeing the CFTC. The Winklevoss twins, who previously supported Quintenz, have also turned against him and urged Trump to withdraw the nomination. They believe he is not aggressive enough with the cryptocurrency industry.
