Argentina uncovers major crypto money laundering case: approximately 1.8 trillion pesos involved, three people arrested

PANews December 18 News, according to CriptoNoticias, Argentine police have uncovered a criminal network involved in obtaining loans from private banks through forged documents, transferring funds to cryptocurrency platforms, converting them into crypto assets, and then transferring them to digital wallets. Some transactions are disguised under the name of “crypto arbitrage.” The authorities confirmed that the involved amount exceeds approximately 1.8 trillion Argentine pesos (about $120 billion USD). The affected companies are mainly in the agricultural and industrial sectors; the involved individuals are not registered with the local PSAV. Judicial authorities conducted 8 searches in Buenos Aires, Buenos Aires Province, and Santa Fe, arresting 3 people and notifying 2 others, seizing cash, electronic devices, and related materials.
