Odaily Planet Daily News reports that Wintermute founder Evgeny Gaevoy posted on X stating that AAVE constitutes a significant portion of Wintermute’s portfolio, and neither he nor Wintermute hold any equity in Aave Labs. Regarding the currently heated “brand control” voting issue, Evgeny stated that there is a clear misalignment of expectations between AAVE Labs and a considerable number of AAVE token holders regarding “who should capture what value.” If this misalignment is not addressed, the token will struggle to continue developing. However, the current escalation of conflict is neither necessary nor constructive. It is pointless to directly choose an action path without clear details on implementation, and there have been many politicized maneuvers surrounding this vote. Although Stani’s communication has indeed been lacking, considering the criticism from the other side as overly harsh and that it has directly harmed the token price is not something that should be rushed. For these reasons, Wintermute will vote against this proposal, but also sincerely hopes that AAVE Labs will take this issue seriously and carefully consider how to resolve the token value capture problem in the long term.
