PANews December 29 News, according to Cryptopolitan, reports that the average price of stolen cryptocurrency accounts on the dark web is $105. These data are usually obtained through phishing attacks, with prices ranging from $60 to $400, depending on account age, balance, whether payment methods are linked, and two-factor authentication status. The stolen data mainly flows out from phishing pages through three channels: email transmission, Telegram bot delivery, or upload to administrator panels. Among them, Telegram has become the preferred channel for attackers due to its real-time capabilities, discardability, and difficulty to trace. More organized attacks use administrator panel frameworks to perform real-time statistics, automatic credential verification, and data management. These stolen data (including exchange login information, wallet access rights, fiat deposit and withdrawal accounts, etc.) are either sold in real-time or enter resale channels. After being bulk purchased, screened, verified, and merged by middlemen, they are ultimately resold on dark web forums or Telegram channels to scammers. The report points out that from January to September 2025, 88.5% of phishing attacks targeted the theft of account credentials.
