U.S. military increases 15,000 troops in the Caribbean! Trump for the first time admits to taking military action against Venezuela

During an interview, U.S. President Trump stated that the United States has launched an attack on a facility within Venezuela suspected of being used for drug shipments. He described a major explosion at the site, marking the first public acknowledgment of military or paramilitary operations conducted inside Venezuela since the U.S. began pressuring President Nicolás Maduro. Additionally, the Trump administration has significantly increased troop deployments in the Caribbean region, with over 15,000 personnel stationed, indicating a rising military and strategic focus on the Venezuela situation.

Trump Confirms U.S. Military Action in Venezuela for the First Time

In the interview, Trump confirmed that U.S. forces conducted an airstrike on a drug shipment facility in Venezuela, publicly acknowledging U.S. action within the country for the first time. However, he did not specify the exact location of the attack nor reveal which U.S. agency was responsible for executing the operation. When asked if it was carried out by the (CIA), Trump responded, “I don’t want to say who. I know exactly who did it, but I don’t want to say.”

Trump Has Authorized the CIA to Conduct Secret Operations Inside Venezuela

Reports indicate that the CIA earlier this month launched a drone airstrike on a port facility along Venezuela’s coast. The port is believed by U.S. authorities to be used by the Aragua Train (Tren de Aragua) criminal organization to store drugs and facilitate their transfer to ships for further export. Trump has previously publicly stated that he authorized the CIA to carry out covert operations within Venezuela. Last week, Trump vaguely mentioned that the U.S. took action against a large facility in Venezuela, but official sources have not provided further details.

Furthermore, the Trump administration has significantly increased troop numbers in the Caribbean region, with over 15,000 personnel stationed, reflecting an escalating military and strategic concern over the Venezuela situation.

Previously, Trump had launched continuous attacks against drug smuggling ships in the Eastern Pacific and Caribbean regions. At that time, Colombian Deputy Foreign Minister Mauricio Jaramillo criticized U.S. military actions as violating proportionality principles and international law. Trump also threatened that as long as drug entry into the U.S. could be prevented, attacking Mexico was also an option.
