Binance warns of a new scam method, where scammers do not directly persuade victims to transfer money but fabricate entire stories of being scammed to pressure the platform into compensation. According to Binance, the perpetrator created fake chat logs and edited transfer documents to craft a scenario where a “Binance executive” was involved in a scam.
The investigation revealed several irregularities. The claimed wallet address was actually the initiator of the transaction, indicating it may be controlled by the complainant themselves. The transfer documents were also taken from the escrow platform and edited to legitimize the story. The suspect even contacted a real Binance executive’s account to obtain screenshots, then mixed them with fake data to increase credibility.
Binance concludes that this is an attempt to deceive the platform’s support system, reflecting increasingly sophisticated scam trends in the cryptocurrency industry.
