1. Introduction to Asia Blockchain Summit (ABS)

The 2024 Asia Blockchain Summit (ABS) is a global event that combines the fields of blockchain and Web3. It is held at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center and organized by BlockTempo. The Asia Blockchain Summit (ABS) attracted over 13,254 participants, including blockchain industry leaders from more than 30 countries. The conference showcased Citigroup’s ambitions in the RWA (Real World Assets) market and Gate Web3’s sponsorship and co-hosting of official events to promote blockchain innovation. Vitalik Buterin discussed the application of blockchain in online democratic voting, Indian prodigy Abhigya Anand brought global economic predictions, and SEC Commissioner Hester M. Peirce discussed Web3 regulatory issues. In addition to speeches and sharing sessions, ABS and other organizations also held over 100 sub-events, private dinners, and parties, demonstrating the importance of ABS to the global blockchain industry.

The participants also included leaders from Solana and TON Foundation, with Lily Liu, Chair of the Solana Foundation, and Steve Yun, President of the TON Foundation, sharing the future development of Blockchain technology. At the same time, innovative projects in the blockchain gaming and Web3 fields were also showcased at the ABS conference, such as Matr1x FIRE and GEDA.

In addition to the Web3 field, traditional large enterprises in the Web2 sector such as ASUS and Acer also showcased the applications of Metaverse and blockchain at the conference. ASUS set up a large-scale Metaverse exhibition area, while Acer’s founder, Shih Chen-Jung, engaged in a thematic dialogue with generative artist Wu Zheyu to explore the future of blockchain and technology integration.

Different from the past summits and Blockchain Weeks, ABS 2024, with the core concept of the United Nations, has invited ecological giants and large companies in the Web2 and Web3 fields to participate. BlockTempo Founder Luo Jieliang and Entrepreneurial Story

BlockTempo’s founder Luo Jieliang and his partner Lin Yuding, both young people from the NCCU Dance Club, did not start their business to make money, but to see the enormous potential of blockchain and are determined to change the current situation of information asymmetry. Luo Jieliang studied blockchain technology during his college years. The first time he encountered Bitcoin was when they were freshmen, and there was very little information available at that time. It wasn’t until 2016 that he seriously decided to start investing, starting with BTC, then moving on to Ethereum, alts, and ICOs. He began to see the earth-shaking changes that blockchain could bring to the world, realizing that it could not only transform finance, but also impact entertainment, law, and other major industries.

However, at that time, the Block chain information in Taiwan was relatively scarce and chaotic. It was found that the information in Taiwan in this area was not sufficient. At the same time, the crypto world was full of many illegal fraud events, and most people had a bad impression of the Block chain. This gap, however, became a great opportunity in Luo Jieliang’s eyes. Starting from the information, he hoped to promote the overall environment in Taiwan, so they established Dappbirds, dedicated to providing accurate and timely Block chain news and knowledge.

In the process of starting a business, they found that the education system could not meet the demand for blockchain information. Therefore, they decided to start from the community, quickly acquire and share the latest information through the blockchain community, and promote the progress and development of the blockchain in Taiwan. Luo Jieliang said: “The education system may not be able to start teaching these things until 3 or 4 years later, or even ten years later, but if it starts from the spontaneous blockchain community, through communication in many communities, people can actually learn it immediately, and keep up with the latest and fastest information. So we hope that DDM may influence and lead the community and improve everyone’s knowledge level through the community.”

Their establishment of the dynamic trend not only reflects their passion for blockchain technology, but also their hope to bridge the information gap between Taiwan and the international community. Highlight 1: Web2 Giants Enter ABS

In the ABS of 2024, Taiwan’s top Web2 giants such as ASUS set up a Metaverse zone to showcase their latest technologies and ecosystems for Metaverse, including the upcoming virtual world meTown and ASUS Token, allowing users to enjoy the integrated world of virtual and reality. FamilyMart teamed up with BitoPay, a cryptocurrency payment tool from BitoGroup, to showcase cryptocurrency payment tools at the ABS exhibition, allowing participants to experience using cryptocurrency for consumption and payment. There are drinks, snacks, hot meals, and hot dogs available for purchase on site, aiming to bring the virtual world closer to reality for the public.

Highlight 2, Telegram/TON Summit

Telegram, with over 900 million users worldwide, has become an important platform for the large-scale application of crypto assets. In February of this year, it launched an advertising revenue sharing plan to promote the development of the TON blockchain and expand the developer community. This year, TON held a summit at ABS, bringing together many blockchain pioneers, including Steve Yun, President of TON Foundation, Dr. Awesome Doge, co-founder of TONX, and Jeff Ren, partner of OKX Ventures, to explore the future development and application of blockchain.
